Architecture

As restoration work has been executed in full respect of the antique structure of the house, there are only
9 rooms and suites available, while the common areas, courtyards and patios have been left intact.

The architecture is representative of the nobility and wealth of Hydra at the time of the Greek revolution: high walls, no balconies, a secluded garden and courtyards, a castle-like defensive architecture aimed to provide security in case of invasions.

The oldest part of the house was built on the remainings of a pre-existing convent as the repeating scheme of the arcade testifies.
